Calling all developers and hackathon enthusiasts to participate in Pitney Bowes SMB Challenge to create apps and solutions for the Google Android-enabled next generation SendPro C-Series device platform that integrates both Pitney Bowes and third-party applications. SendPro C-Series offers a complete office sending solution that handles all sending needs of a small medium business.

The applications for the Pitney Bowes Global SMB Hackathon opens today, Tuesday, September 12. The signups will close on September 27th and the Hackathon will start online from September 29th and continue till October 1st. Developers can visit Pitney Bowes Developer Portal to learn more about Pitney Bowes APIs.

It’s a great opportunity for developers to collaborate on solutions on top of the SendPro C-Series device for the more than one million Pitney Bowes small and mid-sized clients as they identify and locate customers, communicate with them, collect payments and ship merchandise to them.

“This is the first opportunity for developers to come together and develop on Pitney Bowes technology,” said Mark Shearer, President of Global SMB Solutions at Pitney Bowes Inc. “Collaborating on open platforms helps us create solutions that progress the digital transformation of our small and mid-sized business clients.”

Shipping and mailing related applications are available on the newly released SendPro C-Series office sending solution via the Google Android Operating System. For developers, the hackathon provides a great opportunity to leverage Pitney Bowes technology and build solutions across these broad business themes: Shipping and Mailing, Ecommerce, Address Management, Location Intelligence, Know your Customer, Marketing services, Payments, Hyperlocal, Productivity tools, Document Security and Social.
